Telecom Membership and Card Points: Claim the Perks You’ve Been Missing

Just checking your carrier membership tier and card points can turn up usable benefits. Based on official carrier and association pages.

Who this is for

• People who don’t know their carrier membership tier
• People with points scattered across several cards

1. SKT T Membership

• Tiers: VIP / GOLD / SILVER, based on last year’s bill payments, subscription length and late payments.
• 2026 tiers use Oct 2024–Sep 2025; new tiers apply every January 1.
• Example: 900,000+ won/year and 2+ years → VIP. 30+ years → VIP regardless of amount.
• Some plans make you VIP on the 1st or 16th of the next month.
• VIP PICK: choose 1 benefit per month. Movies: 3 free + 9 buy-one-get-one per year (12 total). Offers may change monthly.

2. KT Membership

• Tiers: VVIP / VIP / Gold / Silver / White / Basic, based on annual spend across 5 products (mobile, internet, IPTV, home phone, VoIP).

• Since May 8, 2025, there’s no annual discount cap; benefits follow each partner’s terms.
• VIP Choice: once a month, up to 6 per year. VVIP: once a month, up to 12 in 2026 (6 are a promotion).

3. LG U+ Membership

• Basic: membership-point discounts at bakeries, pizza, convenience stores, shopping, etc.
• VIP Kok: VIP/VVIP customers use 1 benefit per month
• Long-term customers: 2+ years on U+ Mobile get yearly 2GB data coupons and a 1-month V Coloring coupon (number depends on tenure)
• Youth: monthly benefits for ages 19–29

4. See and cash out card points in one place

Via the Credit Finance Association’s card point lookup service or the KFTC AccountInfo app.

• See balances, expiring amounts and expiry months across card companies
• Each company’s main points convert at 1 point = 1 won, from 1 point, to your own bank account
• Deposits daily 00:30–23:30, once per card company per day. Requests can’t be canceled.
• Used after identity verification and consent. Individual cardholders only.
• Points usually last 5 years, but some types expire in 1–3 years.

Common mistakes

• Letting monthly VIP benefits go unused
• Not knowing KT VIP Choice is limited to 6 per year
• Expecting partner points to be cashable (only main points are)
• Not checking expiring points
