Written on 2026-10-26 after checking E-Circulation Governance’s public free appliance pickup guide and booking pages and a Gov24 district service page. No pickup was booked and no logged-in screens were viewed. The official sites could not be captured, so the only image is a self-made illustration. Large-waste fees vary by district and are left out. Nothing here promises income.

Old fridge, washer, desk you don’t need? For appliances, use the official free pickup service; for furniture, report large waste to your local government.
Who this is for
- People moving or decluttering large appliances
- People deciding whether to sell or dispose of furniture

Step 1. Sell it first if it still works
- Take photos in good light and show any scratches honestly.
- Include model name, size and years of use.
- For large items, in-person deals are easier — plan how to move it.
Step 2. Free appliance pickup (1599-0903)
Based on the E-Circulation Governance official guide.
- From 1 item: fridges, washers, air conditioners, TVs/monitors 31″+, solar panels, larger electronics (sum of sides 150cm+ or 12kg+)
- 5 items or more: TVs/monitors 30″ or smaller, tablets, small/medium appliances (50–150cm or 1–12kg)
- Tiny items (wireless earbuds, electric toothbrushes) can go along with the above.
- Not accepted: disassembled/damaged items, interior items (lights, fish tanks), bed-type electric products, safes, signs, furniture, products mixed with gas/oil
- Apply on the official “폐가전 무상방문수거” website or call 1599-0903 (weekdays 08:00–18:00, lunch 12–13).
- Online booking happens after identity verification (official steps: consent → pickup info → items → basic info/verification → confirmation). Not available to under-14s.
Before pickup (official notes)
- Installed items (AC, wall TV, water purifier, built-ins) must be removed first.
- If a ladder truck is needed, move the item outside first.
- Someone must be home for indoor pickup.
- Remove food, trash and boxes from inside.
- Items can’t be returned after pickup.
- If left outside, attach a note: “1599-0903, pickup on [date]”.
Step 3. Furniture: local large-waste disposal
- Furniture isn’t covered by free appliance pickup.
- Report large household waste to your city/district and pay the fee. Per Gov24’s district service page (e.g., Gwanak-gu), you enter items and location, pay, then write the disposal number or attach the certificate.
- Fees and methods differ by district — check your own district’s guide.
Common mistakes
- Booking pickup without removing the AC
- Booking only 1–2 small appliances (need 5+)
- Booking furniture as appliance pickup
- Putting out large waste without reporting
Checklist
