How to Make Money Selling Your Old Phone in Korea

How to check prices on official Korean buyback services and wipe your phone first. All screenshots are real public pages captured on 2026-10-26.

Who this suits

• People with a spare Galaxy or iPhone
• People worried about leaking personal data

Step 1. Check a price on Mintit (민팃)

• Enter a model name to see estimated prices by grade (A–D).
• The page says prices may change every Monday.
• The estimate is a reference; the exact price is set at a Mintit ATM.
• The newest phones can be sold only from 3 months after release.
• Two ways to sell: visit a Mintit ATM, or use Mintit Home pickup.
• The page says its personal-data erasure service applies to every request.

Step 2. For Galaxy phones, also check Samsung’s Galaxy trade-in (갤럭시 간편보상)

• Check an estimate by model name or IMEI.
• Devices with cracked body, camera or display can still qualify if they work (Galaxy S21–S25, Z Flip3–7, Z Fold3–7, Tab S6–S10 series).
• The service is run by a third party, Likewize Korea, not Samsung.

• Process: look up device → receive shipping kit → ship device → inspection & payment.
• Payment goes to your bank account.
• This guide did not submit an application, so the application screens are not described here.

Step 3. Wipe your data before selling

iPhone (per Apple’s support page)

1. Make a backup.
2. In Settings, tap your name → Sign Out. With Find My on, you may need your Apple Account password.
3. Settings → General → Transfer or Reset → Erase All Content and Settings.

Galaxy

• Likewize asks you to reset the device before shipping. IMEI is under Settings → About phone.

Common mistakes

• Resetting without signing out of your account
• Treating the estimate as the final price
• Shipping with the SIM or memory card inside
